Michael White, MD, MBA, Executive Vice President and Chief Clinical Officer of Valleywise Health, discusses hospital management, what aspects of his role are the most difficult, and what motivates him.
Dr. White works to advance the mission, vision and values of Valleywise Health to improve clinical outcomes, enhance patient experience, and grow key programs. He also serves as a liaison with our partners at District Medical Group and the Creighton University Arizona Health Education Alliance.
Prior to joining Valleywise, Dr. White served as Chief Academic Officer at CHI Health in Omaha. Dr. White continues to serve as the Associate Dean for Technology and Informatics at the Creighton University School of Medicine.
Dr. White is a practicing interventional cardiologist. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and interventional cardiology. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Creighton University. Dr. White received his medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiovascular disease. He completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology at Duke University. Dr. White earned his MBA degree from Creighton University.

Sara Beste, MD, MPH, sees patients at St Joseph’s Medical Center, does bedside teaching with medical students at St Vincent DePaul clinic, and develops the curriculum for the Arrupe Global Scholars program.

Adnan Saithna, MD, speaks about his training in the UK and Canada as an orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder. He has recently moved to Arizona and his clinical practice is based at AZBSC Orthopedics. Dr. Saithna has published over 200 research articles and received multiple awards for his work. Dr. Saithna is originally from the UK, where he undertook medical school and residency training. He completed two years of fellowship training at internationally recognized centers of excellence in sports medicine (Royal Orthopedic Hospital, UK and the Pan Am Clinic, Canada). He serves on numerous national and international committees and the editorial board of the Arthroscopy and OJSM journals. Debora Fox-McClary, MD, speaks with us about serving in the US Navy. Dr. Fox-McClary grew up in western Washington state, serving in the US Navy out of high school as a hospital corpsman and later continuing service in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Lieutenant Commander in the Medical Corps. She attended college in Ellensburg, WA, and medical school at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, WA. She completed residency training in General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, then went on to complete subspecialty training in Colon and Rectal Surgery in Rochester, MN. Dr. Fox-McClary completed her MBA at Grand Canyon University. Dr. Fox-McClary maintains boarding in both specialties of General Surgery and Colon and Rectal Surgery. Dr. Basile is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hypertension, and the American Heart Association.
